The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the results for class 12 HSC exam on 25th May 2023. Students can check their results on the MSBSHSE and Maharashtra Examination Result websites.
Around 14.16 lakh students sat for the Maharashtra HSC Board examination that was held from 21st February to 21st March. This year's overall pass percentage is 91.25%, with 12.95 lakh students passing the exam. There is a slight dip of 3.03% in the number of students passing this year, as the pass percentage in 2022 was 94.22%.
The Science stream has recorded the highest passing percentage among all the streams, followed by Commerce and Arts. This year, girls have again shown a better performance scoring a much higher pass percentage than boys.
Just like last year, this year as well the Maharashtra Board has decided they will not declare the topper list of Science, Arts and Commerce streams.

The overall pass percentage is 91.25%. A total of 12,92,468 students have passed.
Science topped the stream-wise pass percentage with 96.09%, followed by Commerce with 90.42%, Business courses at 89.25% and Arts at 84.05%.
Girls have secured a pass percentage of 93.73%, higher than the 89.14% scored by boys.
The division-wise pass percentages revealed Konkan scored the highest at 96.01%, followed by Pune, Kolhapur and Amravati. Mumbai scored the lowest pass percentage at 88.13%. Mumbai was also the city with the highest number of exam candidates.
Steps to Check Maharashtra Board HSC Results
Students who appeared for the examination can check their results on the official websites using the following steps.
Visit the Maharashtra Results website and click on ‘HSC Examination February- 2023 RESULT’.
Once the page has opened, type in your roll number and mother’s first name in the given space.
Click on ‘View Result’
The mark sheet should now be visible on your screen.
Go through the marks and download or take a printout of the result for future reference.
Maharashtra Board HSC Grading System
The Maharashtra Board has the following grading system for the class 12 HSC examination.
If a student scores 75% and above, they pass with Distinction.
If students score 60 to 75% marks, they get First Division.
If a student scores 45 to 59% marks, they get Second Division.
Students who score 35% to 44% marks get a Pass Grade.
Scoring below 35% means the student has failed.
Students need to score a minimum of 35% marks in all subjects, in both theory and practical separately, and achieve a 35% overall percentage to pass the Maharashtra HSC Board Examination. The minimum grade requirement in each subject is a C to pass.
