Solution 1
Tilloo managed to find his way to the 'forbidden passage' by getting hold of his father's security card. Then, evading his watchful mother's eye, Tilloo made his way to the forbidden passage.

Tilloo hoped to see the sun or the stars once he emerged from his underground home.

Tilloo's father advised him not to try to reach the surface of the planet because it was difficult for an ordinary person to survive because the air was too thin to breathe and the temperature was so low that one would freeze to death.

The changes that had occurred, which forced people to live in underground homes was that the sun, which had provided sustenance, turned hostile. It changed slightly but the change was sufficient to upset the balance of nature on this planet. The birds, animals and fish couldn't bear it and became extinct.

Everyone in the Control Room was greatly excited because people were crowded round the big TV screen which said that something was heading towards them.

The spacecraft was unmanned. We know it because their ancestors had a well-developed space programme and had searched the solar system with manned and unmanned spacecraft and found that no life existed anywhere else.

Number One suggested to render the spacecraft ineffective anytime and Number Two suggested that not to reveal their existence by rendering the spacecraft ineffective.

The mechanical hand was emerging from the spacecraft. It was approaching the surface of the planet to touch the soil (collect soil for examination).

The damage was that the mechanical hand from the spacecraft ceased to work.
