He made ‘x’ such ceiling hangings and ‘2x’ such wall hangings. If the number of cups used for ceiling hangings is 20 more than the number of cups used for wall hangings. Write the simplified equation (variables on one side). - There are total ‘x’ different types of fishes in an aquarium and 2 fishes of each type are present in it. When you take twice the total number of fishes and add fifty and then take out 30, you get hundred more than two hundred. Find the total number of fishes present in the aquarium.
- In a cricket match, MS Dhoni scored some singles, some 4s and some 6s. His total score was 96 with ‘x’ singles, 8 fours and 6 sixes. If he played 47 balls, how many were dot balls?
- Arun bought a story book having 240 pages in it. He finished reading 23 pages on the first day. From 2nd day, he use to read 31 pages every day and finished reading the entire book in ‘x’ days.
An equation formed with the above information is “23 + 31x = 240”. Show the step to separate the variable and then find the number of days required to finish reading the entire book. - While doing a math trick, Trisha takes a number and doubles it. She then takes away half of 18 from it and divide it by 7 to get the 3rd multiple of 17. Find the number took by Trisha.
